Although during the summer there is no programme of Society indoor events at the Rugby Club the WDPS is an all-year-round Society and members remain active, but outdoors in the field over the summer. A programme of summer outings/events is normally run, from late-May onwards. An 8 shot competition is run for the “Summer Outings Cup” over the summer period . Full day trips are also arranged when requested by a sufficient number of members plus guests signing up.

2009 (open to all)
26th to 30th May - (Tue to Sat) Annual exhibition of members photographs. Mulberry Gallery, Weymouth Library. (open to all & F.O.C. during library hours) Regular visitors please note the exhibition is one week later in relative terms in 2009 and therefore opens on Tuesday as the Monday is Spring Bank Holiday.
- Date still TBC - RSPB Guided walk around Radipole Lake - followed by social get to together in the Centenary Club
- 30 Jun - Field trip 1 to Portland - Meet Portland Heights at 7pm then a photo' safari into the Tout Quarry scuplture park.
28 Jul - Field trip 2 to Portland - followed by social get to together in the Island. Meet at Portland Fire Station Grove Road at 7pm. Our Chairman (Neville Kempster) will then lead a walk into Bottomcome Quarry to talk about butterflies and photogrpaphing them in the wild.
11 Aug - Field trip 3 in Weymouth - Meet at the Centenary Club at 7pm to be followed by a walk around the harbourside with stops to discuss composition options, exposure options etc. - An "on-scene" tutorial session on composition options based on a walk around Weymouth Harbour - followed by social get to together in the Centenary Club

15th Sep (Tue) Regular indoor season will commence.
NOTE The venue for 2009 is a new one and we will be meeting fortnightly.
